Bay County Family Treatment Court
Founding member and participant on the Bay County Family Treatment Court (FTC) team that created a program to assist parents whose parental rights are being reviewed because of substance abuse occurring by one or both parents. FTC is designed to provide parents with supportive services to help them establish a solid foundation for recovery and the ultimate goal of reunification with their children.

Guardian ad Litem for Adult Guardianship Proceedings
Personally visit the individual and explained to the individual the nature, purpose and legal effects of a guardian’s appointment; described to the individual the hearing procedure and their rights; informed the individual the name of any person known to be seeking appointment as guardian; make determinations and write a report to the court regarding the guardianship proceeding.
Representing adults in misdemeanors and felonies in criminal matters (both retained and indigent) where my skills focused on a wide variety of charges ranging from minimal jail time to potential sentences including life in prison.
Probate and Estate
Performed estate planning by meeting with clients, drafting wills, and advanced directives such as general durable power of attorney and durable power of attorney for health care forms.
Youth Criminal Matters
Manage caseload ranging over 100 charges concerning status offenses, misdemeanors, dual system youth, and felonies of criminal law. This work requires an in-depth knowledge of the law and requires an exceptional ability to communicate effectively through meeting with the youth and their parent(s), participating in negotiation with the prosecuting attorney’s office, as well as consulting with juvenile probation officers, therapists, case managers, placement facilities managers, and program directors all in an effort to promote the well-being of children who come into contact with the juvenile justice system.
Secure Risk Assessment
Visit youth secured in juvenile facilities throughout the state to ensure their understanding of the charges levied against them, show compassion through rapport, listen to their concerns, check on their mental well-being and safety, and verify that their needs are met in the facility.
Juvenile Drug Court
Founding member and participant on the Juvenile Drug Court (JDC) committee to create policies and protocols for the running of the treatment court to ensure the sobriety of the youth. Since its inception in 2010, the mission of JDC is to enhance public safety by reducing juvenile delinquency through community-based services to juveniles struggling with drugs and alcohol. Utilizing a family-based approach, this team promotes accountability, responsibility, and a drug/alcohol free lifestyle to help guide our youth away from criminality.
